🚀 Ready for your next challenge?
If you’re the kind of person who loves getting stuck into hands-on tech, thrives on variety, and enjoys making life easier for others, this one’s for you.
We’re on the hunt for a Desktop Support Engineer to join a friendly, fast-moving team supporting schools with all things IT. You’ll be right at the heart of the action – whether it’s resolving a tricky support ticket, rolling out a new batch of laptops, or helping a teacher get their tech back on track before class starts.
This is a practical, people-focused role with lots of autonomy, tons of variety, and real opportunities to grow.
🛠 What you’ll be doing
Your week might include:
- Providing 1st and 2nd line desktop support on-site across multiple school locations
- Troubleshooting Windows, Chromebooks, printers, and classroom tech
- Supporting users face-to-face with calm, confident communication
- Managing support tickets and collaborating with the helpdesk team
- Liaising with third-party suppliers when escalation is needed
- Auditing school IT environments and recommending improvements
No two days will be the same – and that’s exactly how you like it.
🙌 What we’re looking for
You’ll need to be confident, reliable and able to think on your feet. We’re after someone who’s:
- Experienced in on-site IT support (ideally 3+ years)
- Skilled with Microsoft desktop and server tech (Windows 11, Microsoft 365, etc.)
- Familiar with virtualisation tools like Hyper-V
- A great communicator with a calm, proactive approach
- Organised and comfortable working solo or as part of a team
Bonus if you’ve worked in an education setting before – but it’s not essential.
💡 Even better if you bring...
You don’t need all of this, but these are the kinds of extras that’ll help you hit the ground running:
- Group Policy and MDM experience
- Knowledge of backup solutions, Azure, and virtualisation tools
- Networking skills – VLANs, Wi-Fi, switches, firewalls etc.
- Familiarity with Autotask, Datto, or similar platforms
And if you’ve got a natural curiosity for emerging tech, even better.
🎯 Why this role?
You’ll be supported by a solid, collaborative team – but you’ll also have the freedom to manage your time, make decisions, and take real ownership of your work. It’s a brilliant opportunity to:
- Develop your technical skills across a broad stack
- Get hands-on experience with a range of systems and environments
- Work somewhere that values your input and initiative
- Access ongoing training and career progression
You’ll be making a real difference every day – not just keeping systems running, but helping people do their best work through better tech.
If you’re motivated, switched-on, and ready to take your next step in IT – we’d love to hear from you.
